If she were an ordinary child, perhaps she would have stopped cultivating upon failing to sense Spiritual Qi. But Mo Tiange never once gave up the thought.
After her mother died, she lived as a dependent in the ancestral home, unable to feel any familial affection. For a sensitive child like her, each day truly felt like a year. In such an environment, she missed her father, whom she had never met, all the more. Especially after learning that her father most likely possessed an Immortal Method, this longing grew even stronger.
She did not know that cultivators in the cultivation world all sensed Spiritual Qi entering their bodies within extremely dense spiritual energy environments. Loose Cultivators in the mortal world often lacked such detailed texts and did not know what Spirit Qi Entering Body meant. Only after cultivating for many years would they discover the presence of spiritual energy.
There was a discrepancy in her cultivation, yet she had no one to ask. Mo Tiange could only go and search through the books in the library. Unfortunately, in the mortal world, it was already rare to have even two books involving the cultivation world. No matter how thoroughly she searched the collection, she found not a single useful piece of information.
Even though she couldn't sense Spiritual Qi, she still sat in meditation to cultivate every night. In her spare time, she would carefully recall the Art of the Plain Maiden and the knowledge her ancestor had imprinted in her mind, hoping to find some enlightenment. Though she didn't understand many things yet, she firmly believed they would definitely be useful in the future.
Months passed in the blink of an eye, and she still hadn't cultivated any Spiritual Qi. However, her academic studies advanced by leaps and bounds. Cultivation had enhanced her memory, and her comprehension was completely unlike that of a seven-year-old child. Later, the teacher even permitted her not to attend lectures, allowing her to just read and write on her own, only asking him when she didn't understand. Mo Tiange thus spent her whole days in the library. This made the other children extremely envious, especially Tian Jun and Tian Qiao.
Upon learning she excelled in her studies, her eldest uncle and aunt treated her much better, telling Tian Jun to ask her more when he didn't understand. This made Tian Jun both envious and jealous. He wanted to find opportunities to bully her but lacked the courage. The happiest was Tian Qiao, who had always struggled with her studies. With Tian Ge by her side, she now had someone to help with her homework.
Only Madam Zheng's attitude towards her remained unchanged. She never gave her a kind look, simply acting as if this person didn't exist in the household.
However, Mo Tiange didn't care about this in the slightest. Ever since she learned about that cultivation world and knew her father was also a cultivator, she had only one thought in her heart: to succeed in cultivation, leave this place, and go find her father.
School, chores, cultivation—this was the entirety of her life. Though she sometimes felt sad when thinking of her mother, the desire to find her father overwhelmed everything.
Day after day, she even had little time to play with Tian Qiao. Tian Qiao was being forced by her mother to learn needlework. Every time she came to find her to play, her eyes were filled with extreme envy because no one forced Mo Tiange to learn these things. But in her heart, Mo Tiange thought that Tian Qiao was the fortunate one. It was because her aunt cared that she was so strict with her.
Another day of cultivation without success. Mo Tiange awoke from her meditative state.
She had grown accustomed to this state. Every time she sat down, her thoughts would automatically enter meditation. Upon waking, she would feel mentally invigorated.
Looking up, the sky was still dark, the moonlight bright. The moon's light was pure white, like a bolt of flawless gauze satin, shining through the window and spreading onto the bed.
She involuntarily reached out her hand, wanting to scoop up this moonlight. She saw her palm filled with rippling moonlight, gentle and bright. She couldn't help but become somewhat entranced.
She still remembered asking her mother if this moon could be plucked. Her mother had smiled, stretched out her hand, and cupped a handful of moonlight before her, saying, "No need to pluck it down; we already have beautiful moonlight."
Thinking of this, Mo Tiange's eyes grew hot. Almost three months had passed. Her mother had died in autumn, and now winter was approaching. She tried hard not to think of her mother, to study seriously, to cultivate seriously, but... she still missed her mother so much.
Tears kept falling. She wanted to cry once more. Mother...
Suddenly, something at the corner of her eye grew brighter and brighter. She forgot to cry, staring blankly at her wrist.
It was a string of Liuli Beads. Her mother had specifically sought them out before she died, saying they were her father's things. When she received the beads, she didn't know where to put them. She slipped them onto her hand, and to her surprise, they went on, tightly encircling her wrist without any discomfort. So, she had worn them like this.
But after wearing the beads for so long, she had never noticed anything unusual. She only thought the beads were very beautiful, each one completely translucent white without a single impurity. They were neither cold nor hot; wearing them made her feel peaceful at heart.
Now, however, the string of beads on her wrist was growing hotter and hotter, as if burning. The light also grew brighter, from a tiny grain of rice-sized glow, growing larger and larger, slowly spreading over her hand, her leg, until it enveloped her entire body.
Mo Tiange only felt a flash of white light before her eyes, and then she was in a completely dark world.
In this world, there was no light, no objects, only an empty, vacant space.
Then, in this darkness, a faint point of light suddenly appeared. The light was first a dot, then lengthened into a line. That line grew longer and longer, suddenly transforming into a shooting star that shot towards her from the distance.
She didn't have time to cry out before the white light pierced through her—
Cold. She had thought the sensation would be pain, but it wasn't. She only felt cold. That stream of cold energy started from her wrist, slowly flowing along her meridians to her shoulder, then downwards, all the way to her Dantian.
The light entered her Dantian and began to wander within it, coiling in circles. Slowly, other streams of light flowed in, strand by strand, gathering into a mass, gradually forming a small sphere. That small sphere settled there, occasionally dividing off strands of light that traveled through her meridians before finally returning to the sphere, forming a cycle.
She abruptly opened her eyes.
Carefully sensing the condition of her body, sure enough, there were faint strands of cold energy between her meridians, constantly traveling and then converging into her Dantian.
Discovering this, Mo Tiange was instantly overjoyed.
Spiritual Qi! This must be the Spiritual Qi mentioned in the technique!
She quickly sat cross-legged again, preparing to perform a full cycle as described in the technique.
Carefully guiding this strand of Spiritual Qi through certain acupoints, nourishing her body, and finally returning it to her Dantian. Only when this strand of Spiritual Qi steadily remained within her Dantian did Mo Tiange stop circulating her energy.
She had finally achieved the state of Spirit Qi Entering Body.
After finishing the Spiritual Qi circulation, she hurriedly looked at the beads on her wrist.
Now, the beads no longer had that dazzling white light. They remained as before, each one lustrous, translucent, and white, clinging to her wrist without the slightest glow.
However, she was certain that what had just happened wasn't her illusion. This bead must be a Magical Treasure left behind by her father!
Thinking this, Mo Tiange grew even more excited. Her father must have known she would cultivate an Immortal Method, so he left this Magical Treasure to help her cultivate, so that she could go find him in the future.
However, she still didn't understand what was going on with this bead. For so long, there had been no abnormality. And today, when her tears fell on it, Spiritual Qi appeared. Could it be because of her tears?
