"Haha, excellent! That old fellow is finally dead. It's truly satisfying!"
Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm laughed heartily.
Previously, the main reason the Five Immortals Poison King had pursued Ye Yunfei was to capture Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm and refine it into a Gu creature. Now, seeing the Five Immortals Poison King slain, Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm felt a great sense of vindication.
"That fellow's strength was so formidable, his accumulated wealth must be immense. We can't miss this opportunity," Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm said to Ye Yunfei.
"Wait," Hun Lao spoke up to warn them. "That fellow is called the Five Immortals Poison King. His entire body is surely saturated with potent poisons. Even in death, don't carelessly touch him. I'm not afraid of poison; let me handle it."
"Alright, Huang Lao, you go and search him," Ye Yunfei nodded.
Huang Lao's figure flickered, arriving at the spot where Ye Yunfei had slain the Five Immortals Poison King moments before. The Poison King's body had already been shredded to pieces by Ye Yunfei, but no one could guarantee he had been utterly and completely eradicated. After all, for a Perfected Earth Immortal, secretly leaving behind a trace of Soul Power or even a hidden avatar wasn't overly difficult.
Huang Lao carefully extended his senses.
"This location indeed still contains several types of deadly poison. And they are of the colorless, odorless, 'killing without a trace' kind," Huang Lao said, his expression changing after a few breaths.
"However, these deadly poisons are, for me, great nourishment," Huang Lao added with a smile.
"There are also over a dozen spatial rings. They seem to be filled with various treasures—definitely of great value," Huang Lao reported happily upon finding the rings.
"Let me inspect these spatial rings first. If there's no lethal poison inside, I'll hand them over for you to deal with," Huang Lao said to Ye Yunfei.
"Now, I'll need about an hour to refine and absorb all the different poisons here, and then we can leave this place," Huang Lao informed Ye Yunfei.
"Alright," Ye Yunfei nodded.
Following this, Huang Lao began to refine and absorb the various deadly poisons left behind by the Five Immortals Poison King.
One hour later.
"All done," Huang Lao announced after fully refining and absorbing the poisons.
"The strength of those three Gu Children is extremely formidable. While they are grievously injured now, we should eliminate them to cut off future troubles," Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm suggested, looking towards the three Gu Children in the distance.
Their bodies were tattered, their auras weak and feeble.
"No, first seal them, then take them away. I don't know if the Five Immortals Poison King left behind any inheritance regarding the taming and rearing of poisonous creatures or raising Gu. If he left such a legacy, I could cultivate it. I'm quite interested in that," Huang Lao replied, his gaze fixed on the three Gu Children.
"Alright then, Huang Lao. I'll seal them," Ye Yunfei said, waving a hand. A powerful surge of spatial energy enveloped the area, directly sealing the three Gu Children. Then, Ye Yunfei teleported them into the Phantom Tower.
"I'll begin sorting through those spatial rings now," Huang Lao said before entering the Phantom Tower to start cleaning out the over a dozen spatial rings left by the Five Immortals Poison King.
Ye Yunfei, meanwhile, turned and began making his way out of this Void Turbulence Zone.
Entering this Void Turbulence Zone had brought Ye Yunfei immense gains. He had healed the damage to his cultivation base sustained from his failed attempt to break through to the Earth Immortal realm. He no longer faced rejection from the elusive Great Dao. Moreover, his spatial energy and comprehension of spatial laws had received a massive boost!
*Shua!*
Ye Yunfei extended his hand, and a Spatial Longsword condensed in his palm, emanating a powerful aura of spatial energy.
*Crunch...*
Grasping the Spatial Longsword, Ye Yunfei gave it a light swing. It sliced through the space ahead like cutting through tofu, creating a dark, yawning spatial rift. This rift continuously extended forward, annihilating everything in its path.
*Boom...*
Ye Yunfei then retracted the Spatial Longsword and threw a punch. His fist erupted with a torrent of spatial energy, instantly blasting apart a vast swath of space, creating a dark, bottomless spatial hole.
"Impressive! With your spatial energy and laws alone, you can probably match an Advanced Earth Immortal, maybe even a Perfected Earth Immortal now," Hun Lao exclaimed.
"Against an ordinary Advanced or Perfected Earth Immortal, sure, I could hold my own," Ye Yunfei replied. "However, if I encountered those whose combat prowess far exceeds their cultivation level, I can't guarantee victory."
"True enough," Hun Lao nodded in agreement. "Take yourself for example. Though you're only a Perfected True Immortal, your actual combat power rivals that of Advanced or even Perfected Earth Immortals. There will always be special existences in this world."
"Finally, I'm out of this Void Turbulence Zone," Ye Yunfei said.
Having eliminated the Five Immortals Poison King, a potential lingering threat, Ye Yunfei now felt much more at ease.
"Haha… Excellent! The Five Immortals Poison King indeed left behind two manuals in one of the spatial rings! One is an inheritance concerning the rearing and training of poisonous creatures and raising Gu! The other is an inheritance on the application of poisons! Now these two manuals are mine! From this moment, I will cultivate both the art of Gu raising and poison application alongside my Ghost Cultivator techniques!"
Suddenly, Huang Lao's excited laughter echoed from within the Phantom Tower.
"Congratulations, Huang Lao," Ye Yunfei said with a smile.
"I should be thanking you, Ye Yunfei. The Ghost Cultivator technique I practice was given to me by you, and now the Five Immortals Poison King's inheritance is also obtained because of you," Huang Lao expressed his gratitude.
"We're all family here. No need for formalities," Ye Yunfei replied.
"That's true. By the way, besides these two inheritances, the Five Immortals Poison King had an astonishingly vast collection of treasures. Both the quantity and quality are staggering. In short, we've struck it rich! We suddenly possess a terrifyingly large amount of cultivation resources of all kinds," Huang Lao continued.
*Shoo, shoo…*
Huang Lao waved his hand, and over a dozen spatial rings flew out. Ye Yunfei caught them all with a sweep of his sleeve.
"Alright, I'm preparing to enter closed-door cultivation now," Huang Lao announced. He then began his closed-door cultivation session inside the Phantom Tower to practice the art of raising Gu and applying poisons.
"Don't forget my share! And those Primordial Void Crystals from before need to be divided for me too!" Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm immediately yelled, its eyes fixed on the dozen-plus spatial rings.
"Rest assured, your share won't be missing," Ye Yunfei chuckled.
Then, Ye Yunfei began to inventory the contents of these over a dozen spatial rings.
"We really have struck it rich!"
Soon after, Ye Yunfei grew visibly excited, even his breathing turning somewhat heavy.
There was no denying it; the Five Immortals Poison King's wealth was astronomical! Every conceivable type of cultivation resource was present: energy crystals, elixirs, medicinal herbs, magical treasures, rare and precious heavenly materials and earthly treasures, various technique manuals… they were all there, and the quantities were horrifyingly vast—piled up into mountain-like heaps, seemingly endless!
"That old fellow was a man of wealth!" Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm sighed with amazement.
"He captured and killed so many living beings. Naturally, the wealth he accumulated is enormous," Ye Yunfei remarked. "Robbing and killing others has been, since ancient times, the quickest path to a fortune."
