“Regardless, we need to go to this small island to properly rest up. If we stay out on the sea, we’ll keep running into those dangerous sea creatures, and then we’ll never get any chance to recuperate at all.”
Ye Yunfei stood before the small island. Behind him, towering waves relentlessly crashed onto the shore one after another. Ye Yunfei repeatedly swung his fists, shattering the massive waves that came at him from behind.
Ever since entering the Ancient Desolate Sea, Ye Yunfei had been forced to fight against these powerful waves non-stop. He was already feeling weary — both physically and mentally exhausted.
So, without hesitation, Ye Yunfei left the sea surface and stepped onto the island’s land.
After stepping onto the island, he looked around. Lush green meadows stretched everywhere, dotted with blossoming flowers. Elegant trees grew upon the hillsides, heavy with fruit. Butterflies danced among the floral clusters; bees gathered nectar from the blooms. Occasionally, small animals would dart out from within the grass, not showing alarm upon seeing Ye Yunfei, but rather eyeing him with curiosity.
“The scenery of this island is too beautiful, and the air is so fresh and clean. It’s much more comfortable than the sea just now!”
Hu Miao, seeing the picturesque view before her, couldn’t hold back any longer. She emerged from the Phantom Tower and stood beside Ye Yunfei, exclaiming with delight.
“Master, look at that little white rabbit! It’s so adorable!”
Suddenly, Hu Miao saw a cute little white rabbit dart out from a patch of grass and then disappear into another thicket, prompting her to shout excitedly.
“Be careful. Although the scenery here is beautiful, an eerie aura permeates the place all the same. It makes one feel uneasy in their heart.”
Hun Lao cautioned them.
“Regardless, this place is far better than being on the sea.”
Ye Yunfei glanced back at the stormy sea surface where towering waves raged, and spoke.
After stepping onto the island, all those relentless waves he’d had to deal with earlier could finally be left behind.
“We should properly rest here. I wonder how long those fellows from the Guardian Faction will be guarding the exit outside?”
Ye Yunfei looked toward the direction beyond the Ancient Desolate Sea and spoke.
“Guardian Faction, just wait. I will definitely take revenge for this!”
Ye Yunfei said through gritted teeth.
Having been hunted by the Heavenly Gods of the Guardian Faction all this time, Ye Yunfei had long harbored a simmering rage in his heart. If he hadn’t entered the Ancient Desolate Sea, he might still be being pursued by those Heavenly Gods even now.
“The scenery on this island is so beautiful, shouldn’t we explore it a bit?”
Hu Miao, seeing the flowers blooming everywhere, the fluttering bees and butterflies, and various adorable little animals popping in and out, couldn’t help but say to Ye Yunfei.
“The Ancient Desolate Sea is far too dangerous. Unless absolutely necessary, we shouldn’t go wandering around.”
Ye Yunfei surveyed the beautiful island before him, speaking with a grave expression.
However, right at that moment, Ye Yunfei’s eyes suddenly narrowed.
Because Ye Yunfei spotted, at the center of the island, shrouded among dense woods, some structures. The sea breeze kept blowing, causing the trees at the island’s heart to sway constantly, occasionally revealing glimpses of those buildings. They were exquisitely crafted with carved beams and painted rafters, magnificent yet delicate.
“Could it be someone lives there?”
Hu Miao couldn’t help but wonder aloud.
“Master, look! There’s someone moving. Looks like a young Daoist boy.”
Suddenly, Hu Miao cried out in surprise, pointing to a spot at the island’s center.
Then Ye Yunfei saw it too. On a small pebble path surrounded by green trees was a young Daoist boy, carrying a tripod cauldron with three legs, walking towards a small pavilion. As he walked, he grumbled under his breath, apparently upset.
“What he’s carrying is a pill furnace.”
Ye Yunfei focused his gaze on the cauldron in the young Daoist boy’s hands.
Ye Yunfei also caught the scent of medicinal pills. Furthermore, he seemed to overhear what the little Daoist boy was saying.
“I spent eight hundred years, finally refining the Sovereign God Pill, but Master isn’t satisfied with it yet. He even scolded me, saying my talent was lacking, completely ignoring all the effort I’d put in. Refining a Sovereign God Pill isn’t that easy, you know! I managed to refine it with great difficulty, and instead of praise, Master scolded me…”
The little Daoist boy pursed his lips, mumbling and grumbling, his face filled with a wronged expression.
“What? Sovereign God Pill?”
Upon hearing this, Ye Yunfei’s mind felt like it exploded with a bang. He froze on the spot, finding it hard to believe, because the rank of Sovereign God is higher even than Heavenly God.
The pills Ye Yunfei was currently capable of refining were only of the True God level. Pills of the Heavenly God rank were too advanced for him. Yet, this young Daoist claimed he could refine a Sovereign God Pill. If true, such alchemical skill would be simply astonishing. But this Daoist boy’s Master didn’t seem satisfied, apparently having scolded him severely, which explained why he felt so wronged. If this little Daoist can already refine Sovereign God Pills, then how incredible must his Master’s alchemical level be!
“Sovereign God Pill, can it be true? That’s an incredibly high-level pill. I doubt there are any Sovereign God Pills in the Sixth Void. I even suspect there aren’t many throughout all eight void fragments of the entire Chaotic Void Sea. And this little Daoist boy can refine them?”
Hun Lao had also heard the young Daoist’s words. He was utterly shocked and couldn’t help but speak up.
“Hun Lao, do you understand anything about the Sovereign God realm?”
Ye Yunfei immediately asked.
“According to my racial memories, above True God lies Heavenly God, and above Heavenly God lies Sovereign God. The Sovereign God realm consists of ten stages total. The lowest is a First Stage Sovereign God, and the strongest is a Tenth Stage Sovereign God. I doubt there are many Sovereign Gods in the entire Chaotic Void Sea. And even if there are, they’re probably just First to Third Stage Sovereign Gods. If this little Daoist can truly refine Sovereign God Pills, then his alchemical skill would rank among the very top across the entire Chaotic Space-Time Sea. But how could a little Daoist boy possess such staggering alchemical prowess?”
Hun Lao explained.
“Oh no! Might my words have been overheard by his venerable Master?”
Just then, an expression of alarm suddenly appeared on the young Daoist boy’s face. Then his expression turned respectful, his movements becoming cautious as he approached a small pavilion.
“Master, I have brought the Violet Cloud Furnace.”
The little Daoist boy arrived at the pavilion door, knocked lightly twice, then pushed it open and entered, closing the door behind him.
Not long after, rich and potent medicinal aromas wafted out from within that small pavilion. Almost instantly, the entire island was filled with this intense, fragrant aroma.
“What kind of pill is this? It must be extremely high-level! I only took a few whiffs of its scent, and I already feel my whole body light and buoyant. My spiritual state has elevated at least tenfold! My mind feels clearer, my thinking more agile, as if my whole person’s level has been raised significantly. I even feel like my own talent has improved considerably. What sort of pill is this? Its effects are simply incredible!”
Hu Miao, standing beside Ye Yunfei, suddenly cried out in shock.
“Indeed, I feel the same.”
Ye Yunfei nodded.
At that moment, the thick medicinal fragrance washed over him. Ye Yunfei felt his entire being — body and soul — submerged in an indescribably comfortable state. Just the pill’s scent alone seemed to bring him enormous benefits, as if his very life’s level had been elevated.
“Could someone in that pavilion be refining a Sovereign God Pill?”
Ye Yunfei stared towards the small pavilion occasionally glimpsed among the dense woods at the island’s center, feeling his heart shaken to its core.
Ye Yunfei could refine True God-level pills. Within the Sixth Void, that alone made him one of the very top, pinnacle-level alchemists. But now, someone was refining a Sovereign God Pill. Such alchemical skill was truly earth-shattering.
“Let’s go. We should go pay our respects to that senior.”
Ye Yunfei stared at the small pavilion for a moment longer, then with gritted teeth, spoke his decision.
Having encountered such a masterly alchemical grandmaster, Ye Yunfei obviously didn’t want to miss the opportunity, deciding to pay him a visit in person.
“But this is the Ancient Desolate Sea — a notoriously perilous Forbidden Land — and this island radiates an eerie, dangerous aura. We should proceed with utmost caution. If that little Daoist boy can refine Sovereign God Pills, then his Master is most likely a Sovereign God himself. Given our current strength, before a Sovereign God, we’d be truly as weak as ants. Offending him could have serious consequences.”
Hun Lao immediately advised against it.
“But encountering such a skillful alchemical master… to not even try to pay respects... I can't bear it. Don’t be afraid. Since we've entered the Ancient Desolate Sea, why not seize this chance to explore and seek fortune here? Great dangers often conceal great opportunities. The more dangerous the forbidden land, the greater the opportunities it might hold. We can’t afford to hesitate. In the past, we actively explored many forbidden lands ourselves, never backing down. Now that we've entered the Ancient Desolate Sea, there's no need to fear this or that. Fortune lies within peril, as they say.”
After thinking for a moment, Ye Yunfei spoke resolutely, teeth clenched.
“He’s right. Haven't we taken the initiative to explore plenty of forbidden lands before? Since we've come to such a famous Forbidden Land like the Ancient Desolate Sea, we might as well venture deep within. Who knows, we might get rich!”
The Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm, hearing Ye Yunfei’s words, immediately voiced his agreement.
“If we could get a couple of Sovereign God Pills, that would truly be hitting the jackpot!”
The Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm turned his gaze toward the small pavilion nestled in the woods at the island’s center. His eyes glittered brightly, nearly drooling.
“We’ll just be careful about it.”
Ye Yunfei didn't hesitate further and began walking towards the island’s center.
Along the way, green meadows stretched like carpets, flowers bloomed everywhere, and bees and butterflies fluttered. Combined with the intense medicinal fragrance permeating the island, the entire experience was like a spring breeze bathing the heart, refreshing and soothing.
“Huh? Master, look! There’s a medicinal herb garden over there.”
After walking for a while, Hu Miao suddenly pointed at a spot not far away.
Ye Yunfei's gaze followed immediately, and sure enough, he saw several varieties of herbs cultivated there. Each type existed in abundant quantity, growing lush and thriving.
“I actually don’t recognize any of these herbs. But every single plant is of very high grade, higher than any medicinal herb I've ever used before.”
Examining those herbs, Ye Yunfei spoke with astonishment.
“These… these aren't Sovereign God-level herbs, are they?”
The Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm’s eyes shone, almost ready to charge over.
“Don't be impulsive! There are several large-scale Formations set up there. Judging by my current proficiency with formations, I likely couldn’t crack them.”
As a formation master himself, Ye Yunfei discerned at a glance that the herb garden was surrounded by several large-scale formations.
“I already spotted the Formations there, but very few Formations in the world can block us, the Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm race.”
The Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm said boastfully.
“Right now, we are going to pay respects to that senior. We shouldn’t steal his herbs without permission. If we anger that senior, the consequences would be unimaginable.”
Hun Lao spoke up.
“Indeed, we shouldn’t touch things on this island recklessly. That senior’s strength must be formidable. Provoking such a powerhouse would be most unwise.”
Ye Yunfei nodded.
Subsequently, Ye Yunfei followed a small path deeper into the island, eventually arriving at its central area.
Here, scattered amidst dense woods, were quite a few buildings, all surrounded by tall, towering trees.
Ye Yunfei came to stand before the small pavilion he’d seen earlier.
At this moment, rich medicinal aromas still emanated from within the pavilion, continuously wafting out.
“Junior was passing by by chance, and mistakenly trespassed onto your esteemed island. Having the fortune to encounter Senior, Junior specifically comes to pay his respects.”
Ye Yunfei stood before the pavilion door, bravely raising his voice.
As he spoke, Ye Yunfei was prepared to flee at any moment. After all, this was the Ancient Desolate Sea, and inside this pavilion might dwell a terrifyingly powerful Sovereign God-level expert. Such an expert, even slightly displeased, might unleash consequences upon Ye Yunfei and his group that they simply couldn't bear.
In Ye Yunfei’s grasp, he held a Space Teleportation Card as well as several Teleportation Talismans.
Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm, Hun Lao, Hu Miao, and Huang Shang were all similarly ready. Should an unexpected incident occur, they would immediately combine their efforts and flee this place with the fastest speed possible.
However, after waiting a moment, no sound came from within the small pavilion.
Steeling his courage, Ye Yunfei called out several more times.
Finally, after another pause, the small pavilion’s door opened, and the little Daoist boy from before walked out.
“Who are you?”
The young Daoist boy scrutinized Ye Yunfei and asked.
“Junior’s surname is Ye. I unintentionally trespassed onto this island and was fortunate enough to encounter Senior. I've come to pay my respects. Might you be so kind as to announce my arrival?”
Ye Yunfei replied respectfully.
“Alright, wait here.”
Seeing Ye Yunfei’s deferential attitude, the little Daoist boy nodded, then turned and re-entered the pavilion.
Ye Yunfei patiently waited outside the entrance.
“Seems rather easy-going. Most likely his Master isn’t some vicious, malicious person either. Coming across such a senior, perhaps if he's in a good mood, he might give us some parting gifts out of courtesy. Then we'd strike it rich!”
The Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm muttered.
“Stop dreaming of striking it rich all day long. He isn't familiar with us; why would he hand out gifts for no reason?”
Hu Miao retorted, pursing her lips.
Just then, the pavilion’s door opened once again, and the little Daoist boy reappeared.
“My Master has granted an audience. You may enter.”
The young Daoist boy said to Ye Yunfei.
