Witnessing this scene, everyone gathered in the void of the Lingluo Heavenly Domain could hardly believe their eyes.
Who was Lord Saint Yang?
He was an ancient senior from the Desolate Era, having cultivated for hundreds of thousands of years. His power overshadowed the court, his disciples and former officials were spread throughout the Heavenly Domain. He was both the ruler of the Lingluo Heavenly Domain and the master of the Lingluo Immortal Path. With these two prestigious identities alone, Lord Saint Yang was the very heaven of the Lingluo Heavenly Domain. Within its bounds, he truly feared no one.
No matter how powerful your cultivation, how profound your destiny, even if a Great Dao Star Lord, or even a Great Dao Throne arrived in the Lingluo Heavenly Domain, they would have to show Lord Saint Yang some respect. For everyone knew how formidable the laws of the Heavenly Domain and the Immortal Path were—they were simply not something individual strength could withstand.
And yet, such a Lord Saint Yang, facing You Di, had been so terrified that blood streamed from his seven orifices as he knelt in mid-air.
He was truly scared to this state.
Everyone saw it clearly. Lord Saint Yang could not bear the fear in his heart, causing his mind to scatter. Not only that, his qi and blood reversed and surged, resulting in the bleeding from his seven orifices and the involuntary paralysis of his physical body.
And during all this,
You Di had merely strolled over slowly, chatting and laughing merrily.
Devoid of any cultivation or destiny about his person, he had done nothing at all. Even the tone of his speech was as gentle as a spring breeze, his words and demeanor exuding nothing but a sense of leisurely ease.
Yet it was this You Di, ordinary to the point of being utterly unremarkable, who had terrified the very heaven of the Lingluo Heavenly Domain, Lord Saint Yang, into bleeding from his seven orifices.
Gazing at Lord Saint Yang kneeling in the air, utterly broken, and at those Heavenly Domain Immortal Officials scared out of their wits, everyone present found the scene both exceptionally amusing and profoundly ironic.
Not long ago, Lord Saint Yang had issued proclamations to the Heavenly Domain, imposed a complete lockdown, and even rode his Great Sun Dragon Chariot with his Immortal Officials in tow, searching everywhere for traces of You Di. How majestic he had been then! For this, he had even defied the decree of the Nine Heavens Immortal Path, conducting searches within the Primordial World, showing no face to either the Holy Maiden or the Queen Mother of Nature. He had spoken of acting for the sake of all living beings under the Great Dao, vowing to eradicate You Di at all costs, to rid the people of a scourge.
Now You Di had come.
Those Immortal Officials were all scared out of their souls, hiding to the side. Lord Saint Yang himself had been terrified into bleeding from his seven orifices.
Facing You Di, they didn't even have the courage to make a move, couldn't even stand steady on their feet. How then could they eradicate You Di for the sake of all living beings under the Great Dao?
Was this not the greatest irony of all?
In the distance,
Gu Qingfeng walked forward.
A faint smile hung on his face.
He munched on a Crimson Leaf Monster Fruit.
His steps were leisurely and unhurried.
A robe of white, purer than snow; three thousand strands of hair, dark as ink.
Chatting and laughing, he strolled with ease; the Heavenly Wolf absent, Qingfeng arrives.
Such was Gu Qingfeng in this moment. His hands clasped behind his back, he advanced slowly. With a casual wave of his hand, the Heavenly Domain Command Token and the Immortal Path Command Token in Lord Saint Yang's grasp instantly appeared in his own.
"I hear you're a senior from the Desolate Era, having cultivated for at least several hundred thousand years by now," Gu Qingfeng said, toying with the two Law Command Tokens. "An old-timer like you should either be in seclusion contemplating the Great Dao, living a quiet life in retirement, or surrounded by children and grandchildren, enjoying the pleasures of family."
He played with the two tokens for a moment before continuing, "What are you messing around for? What's there to mess with? Wouldn't it be better to enjoy some peace and quiet?
Why must you stir up trouble? Stir and stir, but you can't stir me to death. If I, your lord, could be stirred to death, someone would have managed it long ago. It wouldn't be your turn to try."
"I said earlier, I'd give you a chance today. If you dared to make a move, I wouldn't kill you. But you didn't dare. So, your life has reached its end today."
Gu Qingfeng fiddled with the two Command Tokens a while longer, then seemed to lose interest. With a flick of his wrist, he tossed both tokens back in front of Lord Saint Yang, as casually as if throwing away two twigs.
"These two tokens are what you've spent a lifetime messing around to obtain. I'm returning them to you now. Use this time to put your affairs in order. Then come back and accept your death. Consider it a face I'm giving you, in recognition of your several hundred thousand years of cultivation."
Gu Qingfeng walked on.
Just like that, he walked forward, his steps never ceasing. As he passed Lord Saint Yang, he didn't even spare him a glance.
"Brother Nether Emperor has always been cold and ruthless, killing like mowing grass, treating life as worthless weeds."
On Heishui Mountain, the mysterious woman still reclined in her chair, elbow on the table, fingers supporting her forehead, legs slightly bent. Her enchanting, bewitching face wore a sly smile as she held a dragon-cauldron wine cup. "Since when did Brother Nether Emperor become so kind-hearted?"
"I was originally kind-hearted," Gu Qingfeng replied with a laugh. "But the heavens wouldn't allow it, forcing the virtuous into vice. What could I do? Isn't that right, big sister? Does that make sense?"
"'I was originally kind-hearted, but the heavens wouldn't allow it, forcing the virtuous into vice...'
Heh heh heh!"
The mysterious woman let out an amused laugh. This laughter was like that of a devil from hell, chilling to the bone and making scalps crawl. Yet it was also like the joyful laughter of an angel from heaven, stirring hearts and causing emotions to surge. The mysterious woman slightly raised her head, gazing up at the sky. "Have you all heard what my Brother Nether Emperor said? Heh heh heh...
So well said."
Arriving at the foot of Heishui Mountain, Gu Qingfeng suddenly stopped.
"Come on, dear Brother Nether Emperor, come up. This humble one has been waiting for you."
"This mountain looks somewhat familiar," he remarked.
With that,
Gu Qingfeng lifted his foot and stepped onto Heishui Mountain. As the tip of his foot landed, the black moss on the mountain undulated softly like a swamp, akin to seaweed floating on the sea's surface, rippling with waves.
"Of course it looks familiar, Brother Nether Emperor. You've been here before."
"Have I?"
Gu Qingfeng had already reached the summit of Heishui Mountain. Without standing on ceremony, he directly found a chair and sat down opposite the mysterious woman. "How come I don't remember such a thing?"
"Of course you have."
The mysterious woman shifted her posture, looking at Gu Qingfeng across from her. "Has Brother Nether Emperor forgotten?
It was on this very Heishui Mountain that you held this humble one in your arms and drank wine."
"As for this Heishui Mountain, I, your lord, have indeed been on it," Gu Qingfeng said. "But as for holding you and drinking wine... I have absolutely no memory of such an event."
"Heh."
A smile played at the corner of the mysterious woman's lips. Holding a cup of dragon-cauldron fine wine, she rose and walked to Gu Qingfeng's side. Then, bending her body, she nestled into his embrace. Her eyes, hazy and full of provocation, gazed at Gu Qingfeng as she said with a meaningful smile, "Isn't Brother Nether Emperor holding this humble one in his arms on Heishui Mountain right now?"
Gu Qingfeng was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled wryly. "So this is where you were waiting for me. I must say, in my long life, I've flirted with quite a few big sisters. I considered my skills in charming women to be passable. But meeting you today, I realize there's always a higher mountain beyond the mountain, a sky beyond the sky."
