A bizarre voice and an eerie voice began chatting casually within the void of the Lingluo Heavenly Domain.
Though it was called casual chatter, many could hear them clearly. Their words were filled with sarcastic mockery toward those Great Wasteland magnates and the grotto-heavens and blessed lands. The eerie voice was somewhat milder, its mockery less obvious, its tone rather light and indifferent. However, the bizarre voice was far more intense in its ridicule, engaging in blatant, naked sarcasm. Its jeering laughter continuously echoed across the firmament, as if afraid others might not hear it.
After the mockery, the eerie voice sighed, "A pity, what a pity..."
"What are you pitying now?" the bizarre voice responded.
"What's a pity is that the Ancestral Patriarchs who emerged from these grotto-heavens and blessed lands this time are all ones who can't hold their own on the grand stage. They're either ancient or archaic Ancestral Patriarchs, just a bunch of worthless rabble in name only. Forget manifesting avatars; even if their true bodies came in person, they'd still be doomed to turn to ashes."
"Heh."
The eerie voice chuckled faintly. "That goes without saying. The more capable an Ancestral Patriarch is, the deeper they slumber. Right now, they're probably hugging some Great Dao, sleepwalking through dreams. Either they haven't awakened yet, or they're in the process of reviving. Even if some have awakened, they're all secluded within their own origins, recovering. As the saying goes, the longer you live, the smaller your courage becomes. Those Ancestral Patriarchs have guts smaller than each other's. If they haven't recovered, forget showing their faces; they probably wouldn't even dare to manifest an avatar. Each one is a turtle hiding in its shell."
"You're wrong."
"How am I wrong again?"
"The truly capable Ancestral Patriarchs have long since reincarnated."
"Ha! How could I forget that!"
"Ah, ah, ah! How enviable those reincarnated Ancestral Patriarchs are! They get to reincarnate into this wonderful Present Era. They've caught the revival of the Natural Dao, the revival of the Human Dao, the descent of the Great Dao's Heavenly Destiny, the arrival of the True Mandate that answers the tribulation, and even the advent of the Dao-Less Era! They've even caught such a great event as the awakening of the Original Sin blood! Ah, ah, ah! Truly enviable! Extremely enviable! Envy, jealousy, and hate!"
The bizarre voice did not conceal its envy in the slightest; its words carried a sour note as it asked plaintively, "Tell me, why didn't we get to experience such a wonderful era as this Present Era?"
"Us?" The eerie voice spoke with considerable helplessness. "We are all Great Dao criminals intolerable to Heaven and Earth. Every time an era ends, we Great Dao criminals are either erased by the Heavenly Dao or suppressed in Guixu. What chance do we have for reincarnation?"
"Oh!" The bizarre voice feigned sudden realization. "So we are all Great Dao criminals intolerable to Heaven and Earth! No wonder we don't even have the qualification to reincarnate..."
Beyond the Lingluo Heavenly Domain, atop Blackwater Mountain.
Listening to the conversation between these two voices, the Old Beggar grinned and said, "It seems Old Witch and the others still hold a grudge about this matter."
"Heh." Lady Blackwater scoffed and looked at the Old Beggar. "Can you let it go, then?"
"Let it go? I spit on that! Let go of his mother's egg!"
Originally, the Old Beggar's mood had been quite good, but every time he thought of this matter, his anger couldn't help but surge upward.
Just as the eerie voice had said, every time an era ended in the Great Wasteland Heaven and Earth, the Heavenly Dao would descend its judgment, judging all sinful existences throughout the myriad realms. All Great Dao criminals would face the Heavenly Dao's judgment without exception. Nine out of ten would turn to ashes in the judgment; those who didn't were all suppressed in Guixu.
The Old Beggar was one of them.
He had never imagined he would be cast into Guixu by the Heavenly Dao.
Truly never imagined it.
Because in his view, Guixu was a place for suppressing terrifying existences like Chi You, Xing Tian, and Jiang Chen—those who had once endangered the Great Dao's living beings and destroyed Heaven and Earth.
In his lifetime, although the Old Beggar had committed many acts defying the heavens and had touched upon the laws and order of the Great Wasteland Heaven and Earth, these were all just minor mischief. At most, he stole some origins, seized some Heavenly Destinies, comprehended some forbidden Daos, cultivated some forbidden arts, refined an undying body or something similar. He had never endangered the living beings of the Great Dao, let alone destroyed Heaven and Earth.
Moreover, over the years, the Old Beggar had always been extremely cautious. From time to time, he would quietly undergo reincarnation, change his identity, deceive Heaven and cross the sea, alter his appearance and features, stirring things up every now and then, all for fear of attracting the Heavenly Dao's attention.
Especially after learning that the Present Era would see the revival of all things, the Old Beggar became even more well-behaved. He never committed any more heaven-defying acts, rarely even showed his face, and remained peacefully secluded in closed-door cultivation. All for the sake of reincarnating in the Present Era and catching this frenzied era of all things' revival!
Yes.
The revival of all things.
Such as the revival of the Human Dao.
Others might not be clear, but the Old Beggar knew that the Human Dao was the foundation and basis of the Great Dao. Only by establishing oneself within the Human Dao could one better pursue the true essence of the Great Dao.
Besides the Human Dao's revival, Nature would also revive.
Nature had always stood above the Three Thousand Great Daos. Legend had it that even the Three Thousand Great Daos were born from Nature, including the Nine Heavens and the Nine Nethers, the Great Sun and the Great Moon. Therefore, Nature was also hailed as the incarnation of Chaos, called the Lesser Heaven and Earth.
However.
The revival of all things was not limited to just the Human Dao and Nature.
Various ancient Great Daos, including all sorts of forbidden Daos, sacred Daos, evil Daos, light Daos, dark Daos, and other legendary Daos would all revive in the Present Era.
Was that all?
Of course not.
Besides the revival of various ancient Great Daos.
Various ancient Heavenly Destinies would also revive in the Present Era.
The Present Era's Heavenly Destiny Star Lords, the Ancient Era's Heavenly Destiny Thrones, the Archaic Era's Heavenly Destiny Imperial Seals, the Primordial Era's Heavenly Destiny Imperial Authority, including the Desolate Era's Heavenly Destiny Dao Traditions, and so on.
Yet, this was only regarding Heavenly Destiny.
At the same time, True Mandates would also revive in the Present Era. Those who answered fortune or tribulation bore True Mandates.
As for what kind of True Mandate they would bear, that remained unknown.
The only known fact was that the existence of True Mandates was even more mysterious than Heavenly Destinies.
Both Heavenly Destiny and True Mandate had revived.
What else would revive in the Present Era were various legendary peerless physiques.
Such as the majestic and domineering Tyrant Body.
Such as the matchless and unparalleled Absolute Body.
Such as the unique and singular Extreme Body.
Such as the supreme and sacred Saint Body.
And so on, various peerless physiques that had dominated Heaven and Earth since ancient times.
Was that the end?
No.
At the very least, the Old Beggar also knew that besides the revival of various Great Daos, various Heavenly Destinies, and various precious physiques, various powerful bloodlines would also revive.
