The Endless Sea Beyond the Outer Heaven.
Chaotic Currents surged like tidal waves, rolling and sweeping forth. Although Water Moon Bodhisattva possessed profound cultivation and formidable strength, she still could not move freely within the currents. Even though she was tethered by the Qiankun Ribbon, preventing her from being swept away, that was all it could do.
It was like a landlubber falling into water—all they could do was struggle, and struggle was all they could do.
At this moment, Water Moon Bodhisattva could only struggle bit by bit, slowly inching closer to the Void Beast amidst the rolling currents. Beyond that, she could do nothing else, for the myriad Chaotic Currents could devour all things, including any Supernatural Ability or spell technique she might unleash.
If she could attack the Void Beast from a distance, it wouldn't be so difficult. However, any Supernatural Ability or spell technique she unleashed could not reach the beast; nine times out of ten, they would be devoured by the currents. Worse still, when unleashing such abilities, most cultivators would imbue them with Divine Sense for control, allowing for more precise attacks.
Once a Supernatural Ability or spell was devoured by the currents, the Divine Sense imbued within it would also be swept away. In such a situation, it was akin to sending out Divine Sense to probe—if things went poorly, one's self-awareness, including one's very soul, could be dragged into the terrifying currents.
Just moments ago, a Supernatural Ability unleashed by Water Moon Bodhisattva had been swept into the currents. Fortunately, she reacted swiftly, severing the Divine Sense connection immediately. Otherwise, the consequences would have been truly unimaginable. However, severing Divine Sense inevitably caused mental trauma. If one's mind was injured, they would be unable to concentrate, becoming as useless as a cripple.
Thankfully.
Water Moon Bodhisattva's mental fortitude was sufficiently strong. Even after forcibly severing the Divine Sense, although her mind was injured, the impact did not appear significant.
However.
Da Xing the Mad Monk, Mo Wentian, and Gu Qingfeng could all see that in just these few short breaths of time, Water Moon Bodhisattva was already utterly exhausted. Time and again, she was swept into the currents, only to expend all her effort to break free again. This took a tremendous toll on both her cultivation and her vital essence, energy, and spirit.
This was precisely the terror of the Endless Sea Beyond the Outer Heaven. No matter how high your cultivation or how great your strength, you could not contend with the endless, boundless, infinite Chaotic Currents.
And so, Water Moon Bodhisattva strained with all her might to draw closer to the Void Beast.
Closer and closer.
Finally, she arrived beside the Void Beast. Water Moon Bodhisattva took a deep breath, leaped up from within the currents, and the Buddhist whisk in her hand erupted with golden light. The whisk instantly transformed into a thousand strands of brilliant, needle-thin radiance, all shooting toward the Void Beast.
The thousand strands of radiance were like a thousand sharp swords, piercing through the Void Beast like a storm of pear blossoms.
Roar!
The Void Beast let out a tearing shriek, violently whipping its tail and sending Water Moon Bodhisattva flying back. The Void Beast, now riddled with holes from the piercing radiance, was not dead. Instead, it shrieked, turned around, and pounced toward Water Moon Bodhisattva, plunging headfirst into the currents.
Inside the spatial tunnel.
Da Xing the Mad Monk squatted in a horse stance, palms pressed together, his physical body trembling uncontrollably. Even with his Immovable Golden Body, he was now struggling to withstand the pull from the Qiankun Ribbon tied around his waist. Fortunately, Gu Qingfeng and Mo Wentian were there to help; otherwise, in that instant, Da Xing the Mad Monk might have been dragged into the currents as well.
But.
What about Water Moon Bodhisattva?
No one knew.
No one was clear.
The hearts of everyone present leapt into their throats. They looked and looked but could not see any trace of Water Moon Bodhisattva. Da Xing the Mad Monk and the other two only knew that after Water Moon Bodhisattva was sent flying, she was instantly swallowed by the currents. Immediately after, the injured Void Beast plunged headlong in the direction she had disappeared.
What was the situation inside?
No one knew. The only thing they knew was that the force transmitted through the Qiankun Ribbon was growing stronger and stronger, pulling Da Xing the Mad Monk until his face turned ashen, and he could barely breathe. Gu Qingfeng and Mo Wentian, holding firmly onto the Qiankun Ribbon, dared not loosen their grip in the slightest. If they were outside, they could have mobilized their Creation Power. But within this extremely unstable spatial tunnel, aside from using the physical strength of their bodies, they dared not employ any Creation Power at all.
As the force from the Qiankun Ribbon grew increasingly powerful, all three knew they could not hold on like this for much longer. They exchanged glances, each seeing the worry in the others' hearts.
Just then.
The force on the Qiankun Ribbon suddenly vanished.
That's right.
It just mysteriously disappeared.
Then, Da Xing the Mad Monk and the other two saw the other end of the Qiankun Ribbon drift out from within the currents.
What about Water Moon Bodhisattva?
Had she been devoured by the Void Beast?
Or swallowed by the currents?
Or had she, knowing she was caught in the currents and not wanting to implicate Da Xing the Mad Monk and the others, untied the Qiankun Ribbon herself?
Their thoughts raced like lightning. Da Xing the Mad Monk, especially, was burning with anxiety. He shouted, "Junior Sister!"
Whoosh!
In an instant, a beam of golden light shot out from the currents. It was none other than Water Moon Bodhisattva, yet it was not Water Moon Bodhisattva.
Because at this moment, Water Moon Bodhisattva truly resembled a golden, radiant Bodhisattva. She stood upon a lotus, possessing three heads and six arms. The three heads had their eyes closed, and the six arms were pressed together in prayer. Emerging from the currents alongside Water Moon Bodhisattva was the Void Beast. Suddenly, Water Moon Bodhisattva's eyes snapped open. Ten-thousand-zhang-tall Buddha light bloomed in layers. Her six arms pushed out with palms—each palm like a Buddha, containing a thousand mysteries, a thousand Supernatural Abilities. In that instant, the sky was filled with Buddha palms.
Boom!
In that instant, the Void Beast was struck by the countless Buddha palms, instantly disintegrating, scattering into nothingness, utterly annihilated.
Witnessing this scene.
Gu Qingfeng and Mo Wentian both marveled at Water Moon Bodhisattva's power and the boundlessness of Buddhist Dharma. Da Xing the Mad Monk exclaimed in shock, "That is our Buddha's Thousand-Hand Guanyin Palm, an ancient secret technique and Supernatural Ability. To think Junior Sister, after years of secluded cultivation, actually comprehended such an ancient secret art. Truly inconceivable."
After slaying the Void Beast, Water Moon Bodhisattva seemed utterly spent. Her transformed body vanished, her true form reappeared, and the golden radiance surrounding her dimmed in an instant. Her entire person seemed to lose consciousness and began to plummet downward.
"Not good!"
Da Xing the Mad Monk cried out. Without a second thought, he charged out. However, Mo Wentian and Gu Qingfeng charged out alongside him. The three of them rushed out almost simultaneously.
As Da Xing the Mad Monk charged out, his entire body transformed into a golden Arhat. With palms pressed together, he dashed at extreme speed through the myriad Chaotic Currents, as if treading upon waves. Moving with incredible swiftness, he caught the falling Water Moon Bodhisattva, turned, and began racing back. When he saw that Mo Wentian and Gu Qingfeng had also charged out, he was utterly dumbfounded. He roared in anger, "I'll be damned!
What are you two coming out for?!"
If Gu Qingfeng had known earlier that Da Xing the Mad Monk possessed the ability to dash through the currents, he would never have come out, even if beaten to death. Mo Wentian would also never have risked his life so recklessly. Whether Mo Wentian cursed Da Xing the Mad Monk's entire family, Gu Qingfeng didn't know. But when Gu Qingfeng saw Da Xing the Mad Monk transform into a golden Arhat, carrying Water Moon Bodhisattva and sprinting back through the currents, he had already thoroughly and soundly cursed Da Xing the Mad Monk's entire family in his heart.
PS: Two nights ago, I fell off my motorcycle. Covered in wounds, nearly disfigured. Thankfully, my hands are still relatively nimble for now, so I can grit my teeth and type through the pain. Updates might be a bit slow these next couple of days. Please bear with me.
