Met before?
When?
Where?
Gu Qingfeng's thoughts raced like lightning as he carefully searched his memories. He was certain that in this lifetime, he had never met a woman called the Witch, nor had he even heard of such a name.
Could it be that the Witch wasn't called the Witch before, but went by another name?
But that didn't seem right either.
This Witch was so mysterious and gave off an extremely unique feeling. Gu Qingfeng felt that if he had truly met her before, it was impossible for him to have no impression whatsoever.
Or perhaps the Witch had seen him before, but he had never seen her.
That was indeed hard to say.
In Gu Qingfeng's memory, ever since he began cultivating, he occasionally felt as if a few mysterious existences had been secretly watching him from the shadows. Could the Witch be one of them?
He didn't know.
Just as Gu Qingfeng was about to ask for clarification, it was already too late. The Witch had long since vanished without a trace within the Chaotic Current Vortex. No matter how he chased after her, he ultimately failed to find any trace of the Witch.
He searched within the Chaotic Current Vortex for a while longer, but still found nothing. Instead, he only managed to sink himself deeper into the vortex.
He had no idea how vast this Chaotic Current Vortex was; it felt boundless. Moreover, this was, after all, a Chaotic Current Vortex, filled with all sorts of chaotic currents. Even if something was right before his eyes, it might not be in the same space. Within this vortex, it was no exaggeration to say that every step he took likely required traversing several spaces. One could imagine how difficult it was to find a single person here.
In the end, Gu Qingfeng could only give up and did not continue the search. His mind pondered the words spoken by the Witch.
If this Chaotic Current Vortex truly had appeared since the Desolate Ancient Era, then what kind of existence was it exactly?
Gu Qingfeng couldn't imagine either. What kind of Chaotic Current Vortex could persist continuously from the Desolate Ancient Era until now? Could that terrifying catastrophe that occurred during the Desolate Ancient Era be related to this Chaotic Current Vortex?
Was the end of the Chaotic Current Vortex the ruins of the Desolate Ancient Era?
Or something else?
Gu Qingfeng had far too many doubts in his heart. And the Witch had said he shouldn't be here, because his arrival would only make this already chaotic place even more chaotic and make matters worse.
Where exactly was this place?
And what exactly would become worse?
The Witch hadn't said.
And Gu Qingfeng, relying on speculation alone, couldn't guess the answer. He only felt that matters were likely far more complicated than he had imagined.
Suddenly.
Gu Qingfeng sensed something amiss. He looked up and, heavens, a massive black cauldron was crashing down towards him! The black cauldron descended like a falling sky, its momentum extraordinary, its power astonishing. Gu Qingfeng dared not be negligent. He raised both arms, his palms bracing against the plummeting cauldron.
Boom!
Crash!
A powerful force exploded, shaking the surrounding layers of chaotic currents into a rolling frenzy.
The black cauldron was a magical treasure, and a rather formidable one at that. However, a magical treasure would never fall for no reason; someone must be controlling it.
Who in the world was so bored out of their mind to launch a sneak attack in this Chaotic Current Vortex? Gu Qingfeng didn't know, nor was he interested in finding out. He saw him exert force abruptly, and with a bang, he shoved the black cauldron back upwards.
As the black cauldron flew upwards, a loud laugh came from within.
"Hahaha!
Youngster Gu, this old monk has finally caught you, you little brat!"
The voice sounded especially familiar. Thinking carefully, wasn't this the voice of Da Xing the Mad Monk?
At this thought.
Gu Qingfeng exclaimed in surprise, "Da Xing?"
"You brat!
So you do recognize this old monk!
Damn it!
Earlier, this old monk almost made it out, but then you, you little brat, pulled a dirty trick, kicking this old monk right back in!
Tsk tsk!
You were right, kid. We really are fated to meet on a narrow path. This time, let's see how this old monk deals with you, you brat!"
The black cauldron shimmered with light, spinning and stirring the Chaotic Current Vortex, releasing waves of mystical divine abilities as it crashed down once more.
"I was just wondering which bastard was so bored out of their mind to pick a fight with me in the Chaotic Current Vortex. So it's you, you old bald donkey!"
Seeing the crashing black cauldron, Gu Qingfeng pushed off with his feet, leaping into the air, and swung his fists to smash against the cauldron.
Boom!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Fist after fist, in the blink of an eye, Gu Qingfeng unleashed nine punches. Each punch carried an absolutely indestructible force, striking the black cauldron until its light grew dim and its power chaotic. The cauldron's divine abilities were completely scattered, its mysteries utterly shattered. Even the structure of the black cauldron began to crack under Gu Qingfeng's assault.
Was it over?
Not yet. Gu Qingfeng wanted to seize this opportunity to destroy the black cauldron in one go. At that moment, a monk scrambled out from inside the cauldron. It was none other than Da Xing the Mad Monk, who cried out in panic, "Youngster Gu!
Damn it!
Stop!
This old monk was just joking with you! Are you really trying to take this old monk's life?
Don't hit it anymore! If you keep hitting it, this thing is going to be ruined!"
Seeing Da Xing the Mad Monk, Gu Qingfeng stopped his assault and laughed, "I say, Da Xing, you old bald donkey, not bad! Quite the life of luxury. When did you refine such a treasure? Why didn't you call me in to take shelter?"
"Damn it!"
Da Xing the Mad Monk cursed angrily, "You still want to come in and take shelter?
Shelter my ass!
Look what you've done to this old monk's magical treasure! You've almost smashed it to pieces!"
"Can you blame me for that?
Who told you to smash it down without a word? I thought some old enemy had come for revenge."
"You little brat!"
Da Xing the Mad Monk inspected the black cauldron, his heart aching terribly. He was so angry he pounded his chest and stamped his feet. "This old monk finally managed to pick up a magical treasure inside the Chaotic Current Vortex, hoping to use this thing to ride it out. And now look!
You've almost beaten it into a pile of scrap metal!"
"Oh ho, so you picked it up in the Chaotic Current Vortex, huh? How come I don't have such good luck?"
Many of the ruin spaces within the Chaotic Current Vortex couldn't withstand the impact of the currents and exploded one after another. Earlier, Gu Qingfeng had seen many people emerge from those ruin spaces. Although most were crushed to dust by the currents, it was possible that a few powerful magical treasures had also been swept into the vortex.
"Someone like you having good luck would be strange indeed!"
Da Xing the Mad Monk snorted coldly and barked, "You play by yourself! This old monk won't keep you company!"
With that, Da Xing the Mad Monk seemed to have lost all interest in dealing with Gu Qingfeng. He flicked his sleeve and ducked back into the black cauldron.
Seeing this, Gu Qingfeng took a step forward, following closely. Just as he tried to enter the black cauldron, he found himself blocked outside by a formation set up by Da Xing the Mad Monk. He chuckled, "Da Xing, let me in to take shelter, will you?"
"Get lost, you brat! Weren't you quite capable? Go with the flow in the currents by yourself!"
"I'll count to three. If you don't let me in, I'm going to start hitting it. You know I don't hold back when I strike. If I accidentally break this thing, don't blame me."
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Oh ho, you don't believe me?"
"Wait!
This old monk surrenders!
And admits I'm unlucky, damn it! I'll let you in, alright?"
Da Xing the Mad Monk opened the formation, and Gu Qingfeng swiftly slipped inside to take shelter.
