The Desolate Ancient Black Hole had no sky above, no earth below, neither space nor seemingly time.
Only endless Chaotic Currents surged and flowed.
Nine massive Chaotic Current Vortexes slowly rotated, devouring all manner of currents. They looked like nine gates to the past and future, like fissure doors of this Desolate Ancient Black Hole, as if burying the secrets of the Desolate Ancient Era, and as if determining the karma and fate of this Great Dao Heaven and Earth.
However.
Within this boundless, vast expanse of the Desolate Ancient Black Hole, there were not merely these nine massive Chaotic Current Vortexes.
At the very least.
At this very moment, Gu Qingfeng had found a strange Chaotic Current Vortex deep within the Desolate Ancient Black Hole.
After parting with Da Xing the Mad Monk earlier, he had been searching for the source of that tremendous sound.
Every time the tremendous sound came, it was as if summoning him, making him increasingly curious and more eager to find its origin.
He searched just like this.
He didn't know how long he had searched.
While searching, he discovered a strange Chaotic Current Vortex.
As for whether the tremendous sound came from within this Chaotic Current Vortex, Gu Qingfeng couldn't be certain, because by the time he found it, the tremendous sound had long since vanished. He only felt that this Chaotic Current Vortex should have some connection to that sound.
He initially thought this Chaotic Current Vortex might contain yet another Desolate Ancient ruin, but upon entering, he found that wasn't the case.
The Desolate Ancient ruins he had entered before were without exception endless desert wastelands. But here, there was neither desert nor ruins—only a void Space.
If it were merely a pure void Space, it wouldn't be anything remarkable. Many of the currents flowing within the Desolate Ancient Black Hole were abandoned Spaces, most of them a void with nothing at all.
Yet within this void Space floated many Fragments.
These Fragments floated quietly like specks of dust under sunlight. Some were small as snowflakes, others large as Mountain Peaks. Gu Qingfeng wanted to see what these Fragments were. The moment he reached out to touch one, the Fragment instantly vanished into smoke.
He reached out again, with the same result.
Whether snowflake-sized or Mountain Peak-sized Fragments, they were almost like soap bubbles, dispersing the instant they were touched.
Gu Qingfeng then tried releasing his Divine Sense to probe them. To his astonishment, when his Divine Sense touched them, the Fragments, large and small, also vanished in the blink of an eye.
He tried several more times in succession, with the same outcome.
Even with the utmost care, it was impossible.
This was truly bizarre.
What kind of place was this?
Gu Qingfeng couldn't figure it out for the moment. As he wandered through this strange Space, he studied the myriad Fragments filling the sky. He discovered these things couldn't withstand any force at all—no matter how minute, even Divine Sense, spirit, or a wisp of residual consciousness or thought wouldn't do.
Throughout his journey, Gu Qingfeng had witnessed scenes great and small, encountered all sorts of strange and bizarre things, but he had never seen anything so fragile—so fragile it couldn't even withstand a trace of spirit or a wisp of thought.
Logically speaking, something so fragile shouldn't be able to exist at all.
Think about it: unable to withstand the slightest force, vanishing at any disturbance, they should have long been extinct.
Not to mention the myriad realms of the Great Wasteland, all enveloped by nature—a bout of wind, thunder, rain, or lightning would cause these Fragments to scatter.
Even within the abandoned Space currents of this Desolate Ancient Black Hole, they shouldn't be able to survive.
These Space currents of the Desolate Ancient Black Hole might exist beyond nature, with no sun, moon, wind, thunder, rain, or lightning. But the problem was these Space currents had no origin, no laws, not even structure. They changed incessantly, each change akin to a Space reorganization. If caught within, those with weak cultivation would be instantly crushed and scattered, let alone these Fragments so frail they couldn't withstand a breeze.
Why were these Fragments unaffected within this void Space?
This void Space also seemed to be a Chaotic Current Space of the Desolate Ancient Black Hole, didn't it?
Gu Qingfeng observed carefully for a while but found nothing different about this Space. Apart from being a void, it was similar to the previous Desolate Ancient ruins—having no origin, no laws, no structure, and also constantly evolving and transforming without any discernible rules.
He couldn't figure it out, couldn't understand.
Gu Qingfeng didn't dwell on it further. Since entering the Desolate Ancient Black Hole, he had encountered many incomprehensible strange occurrences; one more wouldn't make a difference.
He wandered inside a while longer, still finding nothing. He had initially thought this void Space might have some connection to the tremendous sound, but now it seemed nine times out of ten he had overthought it.
Just as he was hesitating whether to leave, suddenly, a rumbling, tremendous sound came.
The sound was deafening, like the heavens collapsing and the earth splitting, shaking the myriad Fragments in the sky into instant smoke and causing the entire Space to change wildly.
Hearing this sound, Gu Qingfeng felt both shock and joy, for this was precisely the sound he had been painstakingly searching for!
Well, well!
Finally found it!
This should be the source from which the tremendous sound came.
Yes!
It should be the source.
When the tremendous sound came, the blood of Original Sin flowing within Gu Qingfeng's body boiled like water and burned like fire. The Avici Endless Evil Asura, the ascent to the azure heavens and descent to the yellow springs, the Heaven-Devouring Earth-Swallowing Blood Taotie, and that ominous object all trembled uncontrollably, even more agitated than when they had heard the sound before.
Rumble!
The tremendous sound came again. This void Space began to tremble violently, twisting and blurring as if on the verge of scattering at any moment.
Damn it!
My luck can't be this bad, can it?
Just found the source and now it's about to scatter?
Gu Qingfeng didn't think too much. Seizing the moment before this void Space scattered, he hurriedly searched for the source of the tremendous sound.
"Fate does not die, Original Sin does not cease!"
"Fate is immortal, Original Sin is immortal!"
"The true essence of the Great Dao, the mysteries of Heaven and Earth, all lie within Original Sin, all are but illusions!"
That familiar yet strange roar echoed incessantly. Gu Qingfeng was too excited for words. He felt the source of the sound was ahead. He looked over and seemed to see a Mountain Peak—a Mountain Peak ethereal and indistinct, flickering in and out of sight.
The Mountain Peak was both illusory and real, true and false, like a reflection in water or a mirage, dreamlike and illusory, giving a very unreal feeling.
What surprised Gu Qingfeng was that when he released his Divine Sense to probe it, he actually detected nothing, as if that ethereal Mountain Peak didn't exist.
However, what surprised Gu Qingfeng even more was that after releasing his Divine Sense, while failing to detect the Mountain Peak's existence, he instead detected two people.
That's right!
Two people.
Those two, like Gu Qingfeng, were charging toward the Mountain Peak with utter disregard.
