A brilliant sun of light hung high in the sky, illuminating the void of the Kan Palace.
Scriptures fell from the heavens in endless variation, as if countless Buddhas were paying homage.
Vast and majestic Buddhist chants echoed, like a multitude of Buddhas reciting sutras to deliver souls.
A colossal golden Buddha, its head crowned by the radiant sun, sat with one hand raised before its chest and the other resting on its knee. Its eyes were slightly closed, obscuring half the sky as it hovered in the void, receiving the worship of the myriad Buddhas. It looked as if the Buddha Lord himself had descended.
Upon the Buddha's palm sat the Buddha Emperor Miao Tathagata of Western Heaven. He wore the Five-Buddha Crown, draped in monastic robes, a string of relics around his neck, and prayer beads in hand. Sitting cross-legged like the golden Buddha, he too had his eyes slightly closed, turning the beads and reciting scriptures.
At this moment, the twenty-some followers of the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor, all bearers of Original Sin, were suffering excruciating headaches. Their powers ran wild uncontrollably, the Blood of Original Sin within them flowed backward, and their minds began to fracture, as if on the verge of collapse.
They all felt it—their power draining away, their Fortune trembling, their consciousness fading, the Blood of Original Sin evaporating, their minds crumbling, their bodies twisting, even their souls seeming to burn.
Suddenly, they all remembered a legend.
A legend about the Buddha Emperor Miao Tathagata of Western Heaven.
*When the Sacred Golden Buddha descends from the West, myriad Buddhas pay homage to the Tathagata. The chanting sutras deliver the wicked, the Great Sun's radiance purifies all heavens.*
The meaning of this legend was that when Miao Tathagata descended, a Sacred Golden Buddha would inevitably appear from Western Heaven. Then, scriptures would fall like snow, transforming into countless Buddhas welcoming and worshipping Miao Tathagata. At that time, the vast Buddhist chants would deliver all evil beings, and the Great Sun's radiance would purify all realms.
This legend began to spread after Miao Tathagata once transformed into a great sun, illuminating the Nine Netherworlds and delivering the demon monsters and ghosts. Since then, wherever Miao Tathagata appeared, all dark and evil demon monsters and ghosts throughout the myriad realms would retreat.
No one wanted to be delivered.
No one even dared to try.
After all, the Buddha Emperor Miao Tathagata of Western Heaven had once transformed into a dominating sun to illuminate the Nine Netherworlds and deliver the demon monsters and ghosts there.
What was the Nine Netherworlds? It was the holy land in the hearts of demon monsters and ghosts, and the demon monsters and ghosts of the Nine Netherworlds were all masters of the Great Dao.
If even these Great Dao masters among the demon monsters and ghosts could not withstand Miao Tathagata's deliverance, how would other demon monsters and ghosts dare to try?
Just thinking about it made it clear how terrifying Miao Tathagata's deliverance was.
Remembering this, everyone began to panic, crying out: "Save me! Save me! Young Master! I can't... I can't take it anymore! I'm in so much pain—"
"Young Master! Save me! He's... he's delivering us!"
"Young Master! Save me! Ah—"
The Heavenly Dragon True Emperor was not unaware that Miao Tathagata was delivering them; he felt it deeply himself. Fortunately, he possessed the Heavenly Dragon Absolute Body, bore the Dark Bloodline, bore the Mandate of Heaven's Imperial Seal, and most importantly, had cultivated the Original Sin Dharmakaya.
It was well known that before cultivating the Original Sin Dharmakaya, one lost their original self, completely merging into Original Sin—both body and soul. Only by gestating a new self within Original Sin could one cultivate the Original Sin Dharmakaya.
In a sense, the Original Sin Dharmakaya was like a son gestated by Original Sin. Not only did it flow with the Blood of Original Sin, but its soul was also a Soul of Original Sin. It was Original Sin that had achieved them.
Although Miao Tathagata's vast Buddhist chants could deliver all dark and evil demon monsters and ghosts throughout the myriad realms,
the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor both bore the Dark Bloodline and possessed the Original Sin Dharmakaya.
He could be called the darkness within darkness, the evil within evil.
Precisely because his existence was so dark and so evil, attempting to deliver him using only the power of Buddhist Dharma was nearly impossible—even for someone hailed as the Buddha Emperor Miao Tathagata of Western Heaven.
However, the twenty-some followers of Original Sin with him were different. They too were bearers of Original Sin, but not a single one was a pure bearer. They had all seized their bodies of Original Sin with the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor's help. They possessed neither pure bodies of Original Sin nor pure souls of Original Sin.
These pseudo-bodies of Original Sin could still bluff before ordinary people. Even when facing experts like Dharma King Jiujie or Pure Robe Bodhisattva, they could put up a fight relying on the power of Original Sin.
But if they encountered a top-tier expert like the Buddha Emperor Miao Tathagata of Western Heaven, these so-called pseudo-bearers of Original Sin were like paper-mache treasures, utterly easily crushed.
The Heavenly Dragon True Emperor had genuinely cultivated the Original Sin Dharmakaya; he was the true son of Original Sin.
These bearers of Original Sin who relied on seizure and fusion were not even adopted sons, let alone true sons. At best, they were imposters with only the appearance.
The fact that the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor could gestate a new self and cultivate the Original Sin Dharmakaya after losing his original self and merging completely into Original Sin was enough to show how firm and powerful his conviction and will were. In contrast, the conviction and will of those who relied on seizure and fusion were not worth mentioning.
Of course, having said that,
Miao Tathagata was, after all, Miao Tathagata. He was once a top-tier expert who had delivered the demon monsters and ghosts of the Nine Netherworlds. Although the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor would not be delivered by him, he was still significantly affected. The Dark Bloodline and Blood of Original Sin within him became unstable, but fortunately, he could still control them.
Seeing the followers beside him writhing in agony, the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor wished to save them but was powerless. He simply did not know how to resist this vast, all-encompassing Buddhist chant.
Just then, a scream rang out. One of the Heavenly Dragon True Emperor's followers, a bearer of Original Sin, was reduced to ashes.
"No! No! Don't—"
Whoosh!
Another was delivered into ashes.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
One after another, in the blink of an eye, all twenty-some bearers of Original Sin were delivered into ashes by the sky-filling Chanting Buddha Sounds.
"Young Master! Save me! I don't want to die! I don't want to die..." A Great Dao Star Lord who bore the Mandate of Heaven, with a seized pseudo-Original Sin Dharmakaya, was also delivered into ashes.
"No!"
Immediately after, two more Great Dao Star Lords and two Great Dao Thrones were likewise delivered into ashes.
Dead.
Just like that, they were dead.
Dead cleanly, dead completely.
Over twenty pseudo-Original Sin Avatars, five pseudo-Original Sin Dharmakayas—each possessing either unique bloodlines or bearing the Mandate of Heaven, all with considerable cultivation and their own Fortune. This lineup had just beaten Dharma King Jiujie and Pure Robe Bodhisattva into helpless submission. After Miao Tathagata appeared, they were all dead.
The terrifying part was that from the moment Miao Tathagata descended, he had not lifted a finger, nor spoken a single word. He had not even raised an eyelid. Yet, over twenty bearers of Original Sin had been delivered. They had no chance to strike, no knowledge of how to resist, no idea how to struggle—they just died.
One couldn't help but sigh: the Buddha Emperor Miao Tathagata of Western Heaven truly lived up to his reputation.
