There are Three Thousand Great Daos, and also an infinite number.
Among them, the Daos of Immortals, Buddhas, Demons, and Monsters are the most common—not only are they widely known, but they are also Daos that can be touched through cultivation.
However.
Some Daos are utterly unattainable.
For example, the Dao of the Azure Heavens, the Dao of Divinity, the Dao of Life, the Dao of Light, and so on. Among the Three Thousand Great Daos, these belong to the pinnacle, the Daos situated at the mountain's summit. For ordinary mortals, even with a lifetime of effort, they might never touch them. No matter how high your talent or how unparalleled your fortune, it would be useless. Therefore, these Daos are also hailed as Supreme Great Daos.
Some say.
Supreme Great Daos have nothing to do with talent or fortune, but are related to karma—more precisely, to fate.
Those destined for it are born already treading the Supreme Great Dao.
Apart from Supreme Great Daos, there is another kind of Dao equally unattainable for ordinary mortals.
For example, the Dao of Darkness, the Dao of Evil, the Dao of Death, and the Dao of Samsara, and so on. These Daos either harm all living beings, disrupt the order of Heaven and Earth, or throw the laws of karma into chaos. Hence, they are called Forbidden Great Daos.
For ordinary mortals, Supreme Great Daos, though unattainably high, are merely that—unattainably high. It doesn't mean they cannot be touched; at least there is a threshold. Once you step over that threshold, you are treading these Supreme Great Daos.
For instance, the Dao of Divinity is one of the Supreme Great Daos. Although it is said that after the Desolate Antiquity, there has been no Sagehood, before the Desolate Antiquity, there were Sages, Sage Buddhas, Sage Demons, and Sage Immortals.
However.
For ordinary mortals, Forbidden Great Daos are truly untouchable because they have no threshold at all.
Precisely because Forbidden Great Daos have no threshold, throughout history, those who have truly stepped into them are exceedingly rare.
Besides that, there is an even more important reason.
That is, anyone who touches a Forbidden Great Dao becomes a sinner of the Dao, destined to face the judgment of Heaven and Earth.
Is that all?
No!
Legend has it that anyone who touches a Forbidden Great Dao will not only face the judgment of Heaven and Earth but will also be cursed by fate.
Some, to transcend karma, undergo countless reincarnations, thereby touching the Dao of Samsara. Not only do they bear the judgment of Heaven and Earth for eternity, but their fate is also cursed. Perhaps it is precisely because of this that those who undergo countless cycles of reincarnation to transcend karma ultimately lose themselves.
Since ancient times, those who have touched Forbidden Great Daos, while not many, are not few either.
Some have touched one Forbidden Great Dao, some two, and perhaps some three.
But for someone like Gu Qingfeng to touch nine Forbidden Great Daos alone—throughout all of history and Heaven and Earth, it is unheard of.
At this moment.
Gu Qingfeng stood in the Void, cloaked in nine rays of Taboo light. Darkness and Evil alternated in flashes, Slaughter and Death followed one after another, Asura and Hell rose and fell in turn, while Absolute Silence and Devourer shadowed him left and right.
If there truly was a Lord of All Evils in Heaven and Earth, without a doubt, Gu Qingfeng was that Lord.
Boom!—Crack!
The Original Sin aura filling the sky still boiled like water, burned like fire, growing ever more frenzied.
The Original Sin light filling the sky, like thunder and lightning, crackled incessantly, causing the Li Palace space to tremble and shake unceasingly. Cracks continuously split open, and holes appeared without pause.
At this moment.
In the minds of both the Great Dao Patriarchs and the Original Sin Patriarchs, a terrifying question was swirling:
What was Gu Qingfeng planning to do?
First came the surge of rage, then the sky-filling killing intent, and now he had manifested all nine Forbidden Great Daos. Was he preparing to go on a rampage?
On the solitary peak.
Great Mad Monk's face was etched with worry, pacing back and forth like an ant on a hot pan.
Ever since Lady Wuyue Tang Hengheng appeared and voiced Gu Qingfeng's inner thoughts, Great Mad Monk had a bad premonition.
This Original Sin Calamity was like a game of chess.
Within the game, there were countless large and small schemes.
Some schemes would have little to no impact on the Calamity; even if they did, it was minuscule, almost negligible.
For example, the schemes laid by the Original Sin Patriarchs present, mostly aimed at plotting for the True Lord of Original Sin, would not affect the Calamity. Even Great Dao overlords like Old Monster Black Mountain, Old Monster Liao E, and Green Lantern Ghost Emperor were no exception.
Those Great Dao Patriarchs scheming to protect the Great Daos of Heaven and Earth similarly would not affect the Calamity, even those destined responders like Fusheng Dijun and Changfeng Dadi.
However.
Some schemes could influence this Original Sin Calamity, especially those laid directly on Gu Qingfeng himself. They would, to a greater or lesser extent, affect this Calamity because Gu Qingfeng's very existence influenced it.
When Lady Wuyue Tang Hengheng planted a Karmic Seed in Gu Qingfeng years ago, it was equivalent to laying a scheme directly on him.
Her appearance was like a master player entering the game, affecting the changes of the entire situation.
But Great Mad Monk, for all his pondering, never imagined that after Lady Wuyue entered the game, she would have such a massive impact on Gu Qingfeng—so great that it caused Gu Qingfeng to sink deeper and deeper into the path of losing himself.
Gazing at the boiling, burning Original Sin aura filling the sky, at the crackling Original Sin light, at the continuously shattering Li Palace space, Great Mad Monk stopped his pacing. He took a deep breath and stared intently at Gu Qingfeng at this moment.
Perhaps the Original Sin Patriarchs and Great Dao Patriarchs present believed Gu Qingfeng was preparing to go on a rampage, but Great Mad Monk did not think so.
Although he could not sense Gu Qingfeng's presence nor know his inner thoughts, he understood Gu Qingfeng the person very well.
Based on his understanding of Gu Qingfeng, if Gu Qingfeng truly intended to go on a rampage, once the killing thought arose, he would raise his hand and strike, starting the slaughter directly without any hesitation. He certainly would not stand in the Void like this, leisurely manifesting nine Forbidden Great Daos.
But if Gu Qingfeng was not preparing to go on a rampage, what did he want to do?
Why manifest nine Forbidden Great Daos?
To bluff?
To flaunt his might?
To create an imposing presence?
No!
None of those!
Gu Qingfeng's killings were always swift, precise, and ruthless. He either did not act, or once he did, he would annihilate everything he wished to destroy. He had no need to bluff, no need to flaunt his might, no need to create an imposing presence. More precisely, Gu Qingfeng disdained doing such things.
What was the reason, then?
Great Mad Monk's thoughts raced like lightning as he carefully sensed the nine Forbidden Great Daos Gu Qingfeng had manifested.
The nine Forbidden Great Daos almost enveloped the entire Li Palace space, causing it to change incessantly—sometimes like a land of darkness, sometimes like an abyss, sometimes like hell, sometimes filled with slaughter, sometimes in absolute silence.
The nine Forbidden Great Daos seemed to each possess their own consciousness, like nine monstrous beasts tearing at each other, devouring each other, fighting for dominance over the Li Palace space.
Wait!
Something's wrong!
How could this be?
Why had Gu Qingfeng manifested nine Taboos but was not controlling them?
Could it be that Gu Qingfeng still had not gained control over the nine Forbidden Great Daos?
