Let us now observe Demon Emperor Weiyang, Ren Tianxing.
The man was cold and ruthless.
His aura brimmed with murderous intent.
His presence radiated with demonic might.
His body emitted a radiance, a radiance like a dark moon, a dark moon that transformed endlessly—sometimes appearing as a sinister purple moon, sometimes as a bewitching red moon.
When the purple moon flickered, Demon Emperor Weiyang became supremely sinister, savage and cruel, a born killer, giving the impression of the most malevolent existence across all ages, making one's heart involuntarily fill with fear.
When the red moon flickered, Demon Emperor Weiyang became supremely bewitching, sinister and evil, ghostly and frenzied, giving the impression that some calamity was about to descend, making one's heart involuntarily fill with panic.
Earlier, before the Desolate Ancient Nine Palaces had fully manifested, many Ancestral Patriarchs had secretly probed Demon Emperor Weiyang, and all knew that he possessed two ancient Daos of Creation.
These were Rahu and Ketu.
Just like the Imperial Chart and Senluo phenomena on the Free Emperor, the Rahu and Ketu on Demon Emperor Weiyang were also Great Dao Creations from before the Desolate Ancient Era.
The difference was:
The Imperial Chart represented hegemony; Senluo represented all phenomena.
While Rahu represented malevolence, and Ketu represented calamity.
Legend has it:
Before the Desolate Ancient Era, there were Nine Heavens above and Nine Netherworlds below, and besides these, there were also the Nine Luminaries. The Sun and the Moon were among the Nine Luminaries, and so were Rahu and Ketu.
Rahu and Ketu were also the twin baleful stars of the Nine Luminaries—one representing the star of balefulness, the other representing the star of disaster.
Just as Avici Asura represented Hell, 'From the highest heavens to the Yellow Springs' represented Purgatory, and the Devouring Heaven Blood Glutton represented the Abyss.
Here and now:
Demon Emperor Weiyang slaughtered in all directions, his demonic might sweeping across, his baleful aura reaching to the heavens. Cloaked in a purple-red dark moon, with the twin baleful stars flanking him, wherever he went, it was as if calamity had descended—a fierce and menacing deity.
The Free Emperor was like an invincible God of War; Demon Emperor Weiyang was like a fierce and menacing God of Slaughter. They resisted the sky-full of attacks, firmly guarding Gu Qingfeng's left and right flanks, not letting a single attack pass, not even one.
Gu Qingfeng and these two could be said to have hit it off like old friends at first meeting—not brothers by blood, but closer than brothers.
Moreover, the three of them shared far too many similarities.
One was the Nine Nethers Emperor, one was the Free Emperor, one was Demon Emperor Weiyang—all three had ascended to the Emperor's throne.
One was named Gu Tianlang, one was named Mo Wentian, one was named Ren Tianxing—three different surnames, yet all shared the character 'Tian' (Heaven) in their names.
Gu Qingfeng was a variable of Original Sin; Ren Tianxing and Mo Wentian were also variables of Original Sin.
Previously.
The three of them had chased the Mountain of No Dao within the Desolate Ancient Black Hole, then met, drank and conversed joyfully, talking about everything under the sun.
At parting, the three made a pact.
Whoever among them needed help need only call out their name into the void, and the other two would come to their aid at the first possible moment.
This time.
Gu Qingfeng was in trouble, yet he did not call their names. Still, both the Free Emperor and Demon Emperor Weiyang had stepped forward to guard his sides.
Though neither of them wished for Gu Qingfeng to let go of himself, neither wished to lose such a confidant as Gu Qingfeng.
They didn't even know why Gu Qingfeng was letting go.
The Free Emperor had not asked, nor had Demon Emperor Weiyang asked—not even a single word.
Yet they still stepped forward without hesitation to guard Gu Qingfeng's sides—not for Original Sin, not for No Dao, not for karma nor fate, and certainly not for this Heaven, Earth, Great Dao, or the multitude of living beings—but simply because they all considered Gu Qingfeng a true friend who spoke from the heart. That alone was sufficient.
Within the field:
Gu Qingfeng's top and bottom were guarded by Lady Wuyue and Da Xing the Mad Monk.
His left and right were guarded by Demon Emperor Weiyang and the Free Emperor.
And his front and rear were guarded by Bai Chou and Qiongqi.
Bai Chou and Qiongqi appeared rather ordinary.
They were not like Lady Wuyue, whose every move and technique contained the profound, mysterious, and wondrously inscrutable attainments of the Immortal Dao, leaving one in awe.
Nor were they like Da Xing the Mad Monk, who could casually pull out a treasure bestowed by Ancestor Raneng, a supreme treasure of the Great Dao.
Even less were they like the Free Emperor and Demon Emperor Weiyang, who bore ancient creations from before the Desolate Ancient Era like the Imperial Chart and Senluo, or Rahu and Ketu.
Bai Chou's entire body was wrapped in white cloth. No one knew her identity, nor had anyone seen her true face. She simply stood before Gu Qingfeng, her body radiating a peculiar radiance. What this radiance was, no one knew. It resembled Original Sin but also seemed not to be. What exactly it was, none of the Ancestral Patriarchs present knew. The only thing known was that this peculiar radiance was exceedingly bizarre, like water, seemingly capable of bearing all things. The sky-full of attacks sweeping towards her, upon touching this peculiar radiance, all sank like clay oxen entering the sea, not even stirring a single ripple.
In comparison, Qiongqi was even more bizarre than Bai Chou.
Although Bai Chou possessed no particular Dao of Creation nor any Great Dao treasures, the peculiar radiance flowing from her was undoubtedly a mysterious power unknown to others.
As for Qiongqi, he didn't even have any radiance; he was completely relying on fist and foot techniques to resist the sky-full of attacks.
In other words, Qiongqi had been using his physical body to directly withstand the sky-full of attacks.
This scene was rather eerie.
Because Qiongqi, reincarnated, looked like a delicate, frail, and refined young lad. Yet it was precisely this young lad, swinging his fists and feet, his face solemn, who was resisting the sky-full of attacks.
Of course.
Eerie as it was.
No one was particularly shocked by this.
Everyone knew this young lad was the reincarnation of Qiongqi. Everyone knew Qiongqi was one of the Four Fiends of all ages.
Moreover, the fame of the Four Fiends did not begin circulating only in the Desolate Ancient Era; their names had already begun spreading before the Desolate Ancient Era.
One of the Four Fiends, the Glutton, was the overlord dominating the Abyss. Just thinking with one's toes, one could imagine how terrifying Qiongqi, also one of the Four Fiends, must be.
Everyone could see.
Whether it was Lady Wuyue, Da Xing the Mad Monk, Demon Emperor Weiyang, the Free Emperor, Qiongqi, or Bai Chou, these six were not exerting their full strength. It wasn't that their power was already so great they looked down upon all the Original Sin Patriarchs and Great Dao Patriarchs present.
The strength of these six was certainly formidable, but not to the extent that they could single-handedly challenge all the Patriarchs.
The reason they hadn't exerted their full strength was simple.
Firstly.
The Patriarchs who had made a move, while not few, were also not many.
Moreover, figures like the Nine Holy Sons of the Sage Dao, the Nine Sons of Heaven of the Heavenly Dao, including the Nine Immortals of Xuantian, and many Great Dao Destiny holders had not made a move. On the Original Sin side, Green Robe, Xuanming, and most of the Sons of Original Sin and Original Sin Patriarchs had not moved.
Secondly.
Those Patriarchs who had made a move were not going all out. Their divine abilities and creations might appear powerful, but that was merely on the surface. Most of these divine abilities and creations were hollow shells, more of a probing gesture. Some even made thunder but brought no rain—creating a big commotion merely for the sake of building momentum.
Precisely because of this.
These six were able to handle the sky-full of attacks without exerting their full strength. If the Nine Holy Sons, the Nine Sons of Heaven, all the Great Dao Patriarchs, and Original Sin Patriarchs were to attack together, and all went all out, no matter how great the abilities of these six, they absolutely could not withstand it, much less hold their ground.
