“Be careful, someone's there!”
Hun Lao immediately warned Ye Yunfei.
Ye Yunfei had also sensed the blue-robed man in the distance by now, and his heart grew wary.
Most beings residing in the Colorless Abyss were powerful figures from the ancient era of the Three Thousand Major and Minor Worlds, and each one could potentially be very dangerous.
“He appears to be a Perfected True Immortal. He poses no threat to you whatsoever,”
the Golden-Horned Dragon Silkworm said.
“Indeed, he is a Perfected True Immortal. Good. I’ll use this fellow to learn more about the Colorless Abyss,”
Ye Yunfei replied, having clearly perceived the blue-robed man's strength. He instantly relaxed considerably.
Given Ye Yunfei’s current power, dealing with a Perfected True Immortal was far too easy.
With that, Ye Yunfei strode forward.
“Oh?
This youngster is a bit interesting.”
Seeing Ye Yunfei’s actions, the blue-robed middle-aged man was somewhat surprised. He was stunned for a moment, then revealed a meaningful expression.
“Heh heh…
Young man, this is the Colorless Abyss. What have you come here for?”
Before Ye Yunfei could speak, the blue-robed middle-aged man laughed and asked.
“Elder, I entered to search for someone,”
Ye Yunfei replied directly.
“Search for someone?”
The middle-aged man looked Ye Yunfei over, finding it rather strange. A junior like this dared to barge into the Colorless Abyss looking for someone? He was far too audacious.
“Young man, who are you looking for? Tell me. I might have seen him.”
“I'm searching for this elder. He entered the Colorless Abyss not long ago.”
With a thought, Ye Yunfei released a wisp of Soul Power energy, using it to simulate the image of a tall, thin elder—precisely Di Ming, whom he was seeking.
“Hmm, I haven’t seen him.
But you can follow me back to the place where I live in seclusion. I'll ask my companions.
Finding a specific person in the Colorless Abyss is extremely difficult; it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack.
However, if someone has seen the person you seek, it might become much easier. So, you need to ask around more.”
The blue-robed middle-aged man suggested.
“Go back to where you live?”
Ye Yunfei hesitated.
After all, the appearance of this middle-aged man was rather eerie.
“Alright.”
After a moment's thought, Ye Yunfei nodded in agreement.
The Colorless Abyss imposed tremendous restrictions on one’s perception. Moreover, everywhere was a disorienting, hazy space. Ye Yunfei had no sense of direction whatsoever and didn’t know where to begin searching.
Now that he had encountered a living being, it wouldn’t hurt to follow and take a look. At the very least, he could learn more about this Colorless Abyss.
“Young man, follow me.”
The middle-aged man turned and walked in a certain direction, his tone utterly flat, making it impossible to discern his mood.
“Be cautious. The Colorless Abyss is a bizarre world. The beings living here are probably not simple.”
Hun Lao warned via Sound Transmission.
“I’ll be careful.”
Ye Yunfei replied.
“Elder, may I ask, what kind of world is the Colorless Abyss?”
Ye Yunfei trailed behind the middle-aged man and asked.
“The Colorless Abyss is an extremely strange world. There is no energy or natural law here; in fact, it is not suited for living beings to inhabit or cultivate in.
Under normal circumstances, only those who are disillusioned and disheartened, wishing to avoid the world, would choose to enter this place to live in seclusion.”
The middle-aged man answered indifferently.
However, the content of his words was nothing new to Ye Yunfei.
“How large is the Colorless Abyss?”
Ye Yunfei thought for a moment and asked another question.
“How large?
I cannot answer that.
Because I don’t know how vast the Colorless Abyss truly is. Although I have lived here for a long time, the areas I’ve reached probably amount to less than one percent of the entire Colorless Abyss.
As a mere True Immortal, after entering the Colorless Abyss, I can only stay obediently in a relatively safe area.
There are many extremely perilous places within the Colorless Abyss. With my strength, if I were to wander about recklessly, it would be nothing but a dead end.”
The man replied.
“Then, Elder, what kinds of dangers exist within the Colorless Abyss?”
Ye Yunfei thought again and asked further.
“The Colorless Abyss contains many very odd forbidden lands. As for what specific dangers lie within those Forbidden Lands, ordinary beings cannot know, because even experts at the Earth Immortal level who enter them mostly never return.
Only a few exceptionally powerful, top-tier experts might be able to enter those Forbidden Lands and exit safely.
At the same time, many powerful beings live in seclusion within the Colorless Abyss. Quite a number of these experts have eccentric temperaments, unpredictable in their moods. If an ordinary being wanders aimlessly through the Colorless Abyss, they could easily intrude upon these reclusive experts’ territories and be directly erased.
Furthermore, there are many bizarre and peculiar zones within the Colorless Abyss. For example, there are places where space is completely chaotic and the spatial structure is exceedingly strange; once you enter, it's very difficult to find your way out.
What I have described are only a portion of the Colorless Abyss’s dangers. In truth, there are many more strange perils, but the regions I’ve been to are relatively few. So, there are certainly many dangers that even I don’t know about.”
The middle-aged man spoke unhurriedly.
“I see.”
Hearing this, Ye Yunfei’s brows furrowed slightly. According to this man, the Colorless Abyss was indeed an extremely dangerous place.
This middle-aged man was only a True Immortal; the areas he had traversed in the Colorless Abyss were likely indeed quite limited.
It seemed that while this man had some understanding of the Colorless Abyss’s circumstances, his knowledge wasn’t extensive. So, Ye Yunfei stopped asking further questions.
“Young man, the place where I live in seclusion is ahead.”
A short while later, the middle-aged man suddenly slowed his pace and spoke.
Not long after, they arrived before a vast, bewildering expanse of space covered by thick gray mist.
The endlessly roiling, expansive gray mist resembled a gigantic gray umbrella, enveloping a large area of space.
The middle-aged man led Ye Yunfei into the billowing, shifting gray mist.
“This gray mist doesn’t seem to be any form of energy, nor any kind of law. I wonder what it is.”
Ye Yunfei, traveling through the thick mist while perceiving his surroundings, was filled with vigilance. He communicated via Sound Transmission to Hun Lao.
“I cannot discern what this mist is either,”
Hun Lao replied.
“This is the place where I live in seclusion.”
After traveling through the gray mist for a short while, an expanse of aged, grayish land suddenly appeared ahead, suspended in the space before them.
It was a fragmentary, incomplete piece of land, but its area was considerable.
The entire landmass was shrouded by the gray mist, and the ground itself was also shrouded in gray hues.
